Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to have my taxes done?
Our minimum tax charges remains at $150 for a simple wage earner tax return. Most individual returns run in the range of $250 to $350 and Corporation and LLC returns cost about $500. Missing information adds to the cost of the return. We believe our pricing is competitive with other top quality tax preparers.

What should I bring?
You will need to bring all of your year end tax papers you receive from employers and financial institutions. If you refinanced your mortgage, or bought or sold a house last year bring in your escrow closing papers. Other papers may be required depending upon your tax situation. Call us if you have a question on what to bring to the interview.

My parents had a Revocable Living Trust and my father died. Do we need to file anything with the IRS?
You may need to document the "date of death" values of your parents assets. If your parents joint assets were held as "community property" both halves will recieve a step up in tax basis. Also many trusts require a seperate accounting for the deceased spouse's assets. Come in and see us and we will explain.

I got behind on my taxes during the early nineties due to problems with chemical dependency. Can you help me?
Congress provided for certain safe harbors for abatement of penalties. If you were treated by a medical professional we may be able to assist in getting your liability reduced.

I am getting married and owe back taxes, will the IRS leave my future spouse alone?
Any refunds will be collected by IRS if you file a joint return and your spouse has a refund. There is no one best solution to your problem other than getting the back taxes to "go away" through payment agreement or abatement, or injured spouse relief.

Can I incorporate in Nevada and do business in my home state?
Yes. Nevada only requires you to have a Resident Agent in Nevada and pay your annual fee of $125. If you have employees in Nevada you will have additional requirements such as workman's compensation and state unemployment insurance. We can help you with the paperwork.
